Mac Withdrawls

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

On Sunday my Macbook froze and when I tried to boot power down and boot back up it gave me a screen with a folder icon with a question mark on it. Yikes! I freaked out! Tried to to boot it up but it just wouldn’t boot. I called a friend of mine who is a Mac Expert and he tried to walk me through some ideas that he had. Nothing worked. So I took it in to the Apple Store to see what they would say. Sure enough the drive had a catastrophic failure. THey still have it because the new drive hasn’t come in yet.

Now it’s been 3 days without my mac book and I sorely miss it. I picked up a Mac Mini just so I could get some work done as well as editing shots from my shoot with Rose but I miss being able to edit photos or my site, for that matter, from anywhere. It’s amazing how much I miss the portability of the laptop when I don’t have it with me.

The mini has been a great so far and I hope that it continues to be a great computer for home use but it can’t replace my laptop. I hope it gets fixed soon cause I’m goin’ nuts without it! They said 3-5 days but I’m hopeful that they’ll call me tomorrow to say it’s fixed.

I guess I’l have to wait another day

Minor Changes

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

I had to add a warning page to the site due to the amount of nude images on the site.  So the only change is for rss feed subscriber. You will need to change the feed address in you feed reader to:

http://www.jasontagphoto.com/blog/?feed=rss2

Also if you have bookmarked the site and would prefer to link to the blog page instead of the warning page, the link is

http://www.jasontagphoto.com/blog/

I apologize for any inconvienece this may cause.  But its a small price to pay for being responsible about the nudity contained on the site.

Thanks.

Feeling good…

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

I guess it’s all a matter of perspective.  This morning I got an email from paypal and foun that someone had purchased a print of one of my photos.    So now I feel pretty good.  I’m still can’t wait for my next shoot…  I probably sound like an addict but I absolutely love photography and I still say that this is the best thing that ever happened to me.

Aloha,

A little down…

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

I’m feeling a little down today because I didn’t get to shoot yesterday.  I ended up doing some location scouting but I didn’t find any usable locations.  What I found was too heavily traveled to shoot nudes.  But it was a beautiful day and I had a great time traveling all over the island…  So all in all not a bad way to spend the day.

What I’m currently looking for is an abandoned building or old apartment that is in need of major repairs or something like that.  I want to do a whole shoot about the contrast between the softness of the human body and the harshness of man-made structures.  There aren’t too many abandoned buildings here on Oahu.  THe search has been tough but I think that when I find the right one it will have been worth it.

Keep on keepin’ on!

The end of Polaroid as we know it…

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

Its true!  Polaroid will no longer be manufacturing the classic instant film that we all have come to know and love.  Well some of us still love polaroid.  I remeber the first time I saw a polaroid camera and watched as the picture appeared before your eyes. It was fun to watch it.  Now that we have Digital cameras the pictures are more instant than Polaroid.  Its a sad day for sure.

Be Careful What You Wish For…

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

This has never been more true for me than right now. A few months ago I came up with this brilliant idea about being a nudes photographer and now I am blown away first by the response of fans of the work but also the response from the models who are interested in working with me. So let me just say thank you to everyone who has helped to make this dream a reality. Without you I would not be doing this now.

I also want to say thank you to you. You who are reading this site right now. Thank you for reading and checking in from time to time to see what I’m doing and of course to see the pics from the latest shoot. I really appreciate your feedback and the time you all have taken to write me. Thank you.
