At the moment I’m finding it difficult to pay for any more than one photo shoot a month. I’d love to shoot more but I have firm belief in paying the models that work with me. It’s important to me because the models I work with have very specialized skills that they have trained and [...]
During my last shoot with Natalie, I shot almost entirely with a very wide open aperture setting. This made for shots that have a very narrow depth of field. I really like how the in-focus area of the image draws your eye. I also just really like the look of a totally blurred background. I [...]
On my first shoot with a wonderful model named ashleigh, I noticed a tattoo on her arm that said, in Italian, “The Beautiful Life” I felt that it was kismet that we were to meet and create wonderful art together.
It’s not just a saying to me now. To me it’s a statement that reflects the [...]
From the shoot with Natalie Minx and now I’m really gonna be surprised when I do fianlly develop it! I really don’t remember what I shot on that roll of film. I have to wait till I shoot another roll so I can maximize the developer and do two rolls at once. Hopefully tomorrow morning [...]
Well… Last weekend got to crazy for me to shoot much film. It just seemed like every chance I had just disappeared before my eyes. However, Monday was a different story. Being that it was a holiday and a holiday I didn’t plan on, I had all day free to shoot. [...]
As you know, lately I’ve been acquiring more photo gear to deal with shooting on film. Well, today I get the last piece of the puzzle I need in order to really shoot on film. The film scanner! I can’t wait! This should be the last of the big purchases for a while. and when I say “big purchases” [...]
Here are just a few of the images from the first roll of 120 I shot on Jan. 23, 2010. These were scanned with an HP Photosmart scanner. I’m hoping to get a better scanner in a few weeks. I’m quite happy with these results though.
Well… I just finished developing my first ever roll of 120 film! I’m so stoked that, 1.) I was able to get the film on the reel without too much trouble and without being able to see what I was doing! and 2.) That the process with the chemicals actually worked!
Now mind you, I had [...]
The other night I got a little red envelope in the mail. The kind of “red” envelope that contains a “dvd” I don’t wanna mention any names or anything(since they’re not paying me for the ad!) but it starts with an “N” and ends in a “etflix”!
Anyway I’ve been on a photography kick in a [...]
I found of few images on flickr which had a look as though they were of models of a city or a place and yet I could tell that the image was of a real place. The depth of field in the image played tricks on the mind and made you see it as though [...]
