Calendars now available!

During the shoot with Ashleigh this month, she suggested that I should put together a calendar featuring my images.  I told her about my book(which is available on lulu.com!) and how I’m working on a second book focused on outdoor nudes and already thinking about my third book which will be featuring images of nudes [...]

Lessons Learned from 8/30/08

It’s been a while since I’ve written a post on what I’ve been learning. Not because I haven’t been learning anything, on the contrary. In fact I’ve been so busy that I haven’t had the time to really sit down and write much. So here it goes… What I learned from the [...]

Put a little zivity in your life

Well I got the invite to be on Zivity! Yay! I’m so stoked. For those of you who may not know, Zivity is turning social networking on it’s ear right now! Zivity is a social networking site which showcases beautiful images of beautiful women. Their goal is to promote female [...]

Tattoo Idea…

Before I did the shoot with Ashleigh, I knew that she had tattoos. I had only done one shoot with a model who had a tattoo before and we tried very hard to work around it. Trying not to photograph it. It ended up being an interesting challenge. What ended up happening [...]

A few words on serendipity

Serendipity is by far one of my favorite concepts. The reason is that it just happens. You can’t plan for it, and if you fight it things tend to spiral out of control and then it’s just a mess.
I prefer to embrace serendipity and allow it to really shape how I work. [...]

New technology

I think I’m on a photography technology thread this week because I just heard about a cool new product that just might change the way photographers take pictures. No it’s not a change in the camera itself but in the way photos are uploaded from the camera to your computer or even the [...]

Understanding Exposure

About a week ago I picked a book titled “Understanding Exposure” by Bryan Peterson. Because I shoot outdoors I’m always presented with challenging lighting situations. I bring a reflector to every shoot and I’ve started to use a flash mounted on top of my camera. w I still find my self wanting to shoot primarily with natural light and use the flash or reflector for effect or when I absolutely need it.

Upcoming shoot

Yesterday I wrote that I was working on a shoot for the weekend. Lat night I received an email from a model who was interested in working with me. We talked on the phone about the shoot and it seems like she’s going to be a lot of fun to work with. I’m [...]

More ideas

I’ve been gearing for another shoot. I don’t have a model as of yet but it doesn’t hurt to start thinking about ideas.
Over the past few weeks I’ve been looking at my photos and I’m feeling like I want to shake things up. I love hiking in the woods or going out to [...]

“Photographing Green”

In the past few months, there has been a lot of talk about living green.  So, Naturally, I’ve been thinking about how I can apply this to photography and location shooting.  When I got into the nuts and bolts of it I realized that I’m already a fairly green photographer.  And by “green” I don’t [...]
