Jason Tag Photography

As you know, lately I’ve been acquiring more photo gear to deal with shooting on film.  Well, today I get the last piece of the puzzle I need in order to really shoot on film.  The film scanner!  I can’t wait!  This should be the last of the big purchases for a while.  and when I say “big purchases” I mean above $100!  It’s been a rather strange experience to go back to film and find it to be rather cheap to do it.  I figured it would be more expensive than digital but I was wrong.  so far I’ve spent a total of about $375 to get everything I need to shoot and develop film all by myself.   My total investment into digital is about $3000 and I’m not done spending in that department yet.  Initially film works out to be much cheaper to get into that digital but there is an upkeep cost to factor in which may end up making film equal to digital after a year or more.  For now I’m happy to play and discover the art of film photography all over again!

Below are some preliminary scans from my last shoot.  These were digitized by holding the negatives up to a light and photographing them with my Nikon D80
