After a very stressful Saturday.  I had a friend look at the camera and check it out.  He opened it up, cleaned it up.  The camera is fine and is still producing images that are just as good as it did before the splash.  This was a very important lesson although there was no way that I could have predicted the splash that got us, nor that the camera would fail the way it did.  I was near the shore yes, but it wasn’t like I was right on the edge or even standing in the water.  I was 20 feet away from the edge and it was merly a rogue wave that crashed on the rocks nearby.

I feel very lucky to have dodged the bullet on this one.  But it was a good scare that certainly raised my blood pressure a few points.

The moral of this story… get your equipment insured!
