New year… new ideas!

Well it’s a new year and there are some new things happening and some new ideas forming.  If you read my last post then you’ll know that I got a chance to shoot with a friend of mine who taught me a few things about using reflectors.  So on my next shoot I’ll be playing around with reflectors a little. I’ve always liked what it did to the shots but I couldn’t figure out how to place it just right to get the best use out of it.  Especially since I don’t bring an assistant on shoots with me.  So most of the time I’m trying to hold the reflector with one hand and holding the camera with the other.  Needless to say, it doesn’t work very well.  I’m going shopping today to look for some kind of portable stand that I can hang my reflector from.  When I find it I’ll take pictures of the rig.

Now onto the new ideas.  One of the things I’ve been thinking about lately is to incorporate the strength of the human body in my shots.  I’ve shot a lot of images capturing the beautiful and feminine shapes that the human body makes.  But one thing I haven’t shot are images the reflect the strength found in the female body.  No, I’m won’t be shooting with a female body builder, I’ll be shooting with a model you’ve seen on the site before.  Her body is quite feminine and that’s why she is the perfect choice for this kind of shoot.  To see that even with a very feminine body type there is strength and that she is a strong woman.  This weekend’s shoot will be focusing on that idea.   I can’t wait to shoot it!
