Photo Shoot Yesterday!

I had a nice afternoon yesterday shooting up in the mountains with a wonderful woman and an amazing model.  I really wasn’t sure what to expect but I felt good from the instant we talked that the shoot would be a lot of fun.

The shoot started off in a bamboo forest.  I was unsure how to pull off the shots, which angles to shoot from and composition of the shots.  It was tricky because the bamboo just goes in every direction so you have these lines everywhere.  At time I found myself wedged inbetween stalks of bamboo laying on the ground jut to get a good angle.  Of course the shots were worth it and I don’t mind getting down and dirty for a shot.

At one point the model had a wacky idea.  The idea was to do a handstand with her feet against the bamboo, with her back facing the camera.  it was tricky because I had to spot her for the handstand ans then help her get turned around and then take the picture quickly because I’m sure she didn’t want to wait while I fiddled with the camera, then composed the shot, then taking the shot.  I just grabbed the camera, shot, and prayed that it was exposed properly.  It worked and I think it was a pretty cool shot.  We laughed for a while about the shot and the fact that we even did it.

After the bamboo we went up to the top of the mountain and got some fantastic shots on an old concrete structure which marks the summit of the mountain.  Towards the end of the shoot we we’re having so much fun that we decided to extend the shot another 30 minutes.  I really didn’t want it to end.

Overall we had a blast and I definetly want to work with her again.
