Revisiting Past Shoots

From time to time I go back through the images I’ve captured and I try to understand where I’ve come from and where I’m going in all of this. Being to see the mistakes and how to fix them has been a very good way to learn “how-to” photograph nudes. It hasn’t been easy, but it certainly has been artistically rewarding.

One of the things I know I need to work on is framing the shot. This is one key area that can ruin an image or can make a mediocre image, a great one! I also feel that my images can be sharper. I will say that I don’t quite know how to make the images sharper other than to use photoshop. I will have to look into this more.

I feel that this shot has a really cool pose but the background just seems to be way to busy to me. In this shot, the background intersects with the model in the foreground and it just looks weird to me. I thought this shot looked cool in the camera’s built in screen. But when I saw it bigger I wished I had put the sun on the models right so that there would have been light hitting the models face instead of her back.

So this is just an example of some of the things I need to work on. Usually once I identify the things I need to fix I usually get it fixed a little easier than just shooting and hoping the shots get better.

So I guess we’ll see If I fix these problems on my next shoot.
