I have scheduled a shoot for Jan 6th. I will be a sunrise shoot on the beach.  I love sunrise because the light is so amazing and warm.  And as the sun rises higher in the sky the light gets better for a few hours after sunrise.  Of course the light doesn’t stay this way all day.  I wish it would because I could shoot all day.

Ive been thinking a lot about poses for this shoot.  My main concern is that we stay in the artistic nudes mode.  I’ve found that it is really easy to slip into glamour nudes.  Not that there is anything wrong with that but I feel that It’s just not who I am or what I wish to capture.  So my goal for this shoot is to stay on track and keep it in the artistic nudes area.

Another thing to work on are the poses.  As you might have read in earlier posts, I have been spending a great deal of time on DeviantArt.com looking at other artists’ work.  What I’ve seen there has inspired me to really think about poses, the use of light and shadow, different camera angles, and to think about each shot and what it is that I wish to capture.  I’ve started writing down my pose ideas in a kind of shorthand that I understand and can read in a way that I think models will understand.

Which brings me to another big stumbling block.  Comunicating my ideas.  I have had some trouble with that on one shoot.  I think that my shorthand will help to communicate those ideas better.  I don’t like working with a shot list and would prefer to work off the cuff but I think it’s important to be able to pull out the ideas as good places to start from.

So thats it.  I guess we’ll see how it goes.  Of course I’ll be posting some of the images on the blog and more in the members area so stay tuned…
